Are you suffering with Anxiety, PTSD or Complex PTSD ?
What if i told you there was light at the end of the tunnel, and these symptoms do not have to rule your life ?
There’s no denying living with Anxiety or depression can be like living in a constant nightmare…. or atleast thats how it FEELS in the body.
Trauma & Anxiety is a mind, body, sole experience and is brought on by the fear centre in the brain being alerted of a potential danger through stimulation of our senses and this happens faster than the speed of light.
So simply thinking rationally or thinking you should just pull yourself together, isn’t the answer to this very complex problem.
Dr’s are quick to perscribe antidepressants for this growing problem or even beta blockers as a means of slowing down the haeart rate, but again this is simply putting a sticky plaster over the problem, it isn’t actually addressing the root cause.
And talking therapies such as Counciling or CBT can infact be more of a hinderence than a help, due to the fact we are talking to the wrong part of the brain, so although someone may feel a short term release from the symptoms by essentially having a good old rant, this process is infact re-alerting the fear centre in the brain of the event it feels is too painful to bare and alerting the system to prepair for fight or flight.
Even following a strict midfulness ritual with breath work, meditation and hypnosis can not act as a stand alone solution. These are very important for self regulation and putting the breaks on the fight flight response, but sadly these things are not able to slow the frequency of the brain enough to enable us to access the part of the brain thats responsible for constantly alerting our nervous system of threat or danger.
So how do we fix this ever growing problem?
Well first we need to establish what’s embedded onto the amygdala that is too bad to bare again, and for so many people, what we think is the problem actually isn’t the problem.
Example of this could be a phobia of spiders. I can confidently say the response from the brain rarely is because of the spider, it will be as a result of something completly unrelated….. But the emotions associated with each event is identical.
Try not to think of it as an emotional reaction to the event, it is a reaction to the memory of emotions associated with a past event. So our job is to establish when was the first memory of feeling those emotions associated with the spider phobia. And it’s that initial event we need to work on to desensitise all future events moving forward.
Quite often, as you will see in my testimonials, we could start off addressing one problem and end up resolving several issues totally unrelated but all brought about by the same root cause.
Check out Isabella’s Testimonial she is a perfect example of this.
Maybe you’re experiencing anxiety symptoms and don’t actually know whats triggering it, this is where history taking becomes even more important because we need to find a pattern of emotions & belifs experienced over different events to establish the cause.
Once we have established what needs working on, this is when the magic happens and we begin initiating delta waves using specific psyco sensory techniques combined with a series of distraction, reframing and language techniques to teach the system it’s surroundings are safe and deactivate the event specific biological markers responsible for alerting our nervous system of what it deems to be a potential threat.
